Sigmund Freud on unconscious mind

Updated: Nov 3, 2022

Human mind is a wonder in itself. It is one of the most complex things in the nature. How our mind functions, how it stays in order, when it descends to disorder, why it goes through it? All these are immensely important and significant questions to dwell on. Take steps to know about your own mind. One of the simplest methods is to start journaling. Write about your thoughts, specially negative thoughts, write what comes to your mind about any disturbing event. Write what you fear, write how you respond to fearful thoughts, how the chain of thoughts develops and you start expecting a terrible outcome, write how you body responds to this anxiety. When you start examining your life in this way, you will start identifying your unconscious desires, fears, instincts which cause these outward responses. This identification and realisation of negative feelings and thoughts could then be taken ahead and can be applied when you are actually going through that negative thought pattern. You will be able to identify the messages which you give to yourself which magnifies these irrational thoughts. Then you can change these messages and give your mind flexible messages. This will reduce your distress in a significant manner. So start today by giving yourself chance to examine your mind.
